Base64Deco ("we", "us") operates base64deco.com. This page explains what data we handle and the choices you have. The short version: the text or Base64 string you paste is processed on your own device and never leaves your browser.
Which tool this covers
Base64Deco is a Base64 encoder and decoder: it converts text to and from Base64 with full UTF-8 support for Chinese characters and emoji, and auto-detects which direction you want. In practice, it encodes the bytes of the string in UTF-8 first and then groups them into 6-bit chunks for the Base64 alphabet, which is why non-ASCII text survives intact instead of becoming mojibake. This page should be read with that tool in mind, because the limits described apply to what it computes.
Practically, all the calculation needs is the text or Base64 string you paste. Typical reasons people open Base64Deco include checking what a Base64 blob actually contains, and in every case the work happens on the visitor's own device rather than ours.
Your inputs
The tool runs entirely client-side. What you type is used locally and only locally: there is no server round-trip, no log line, and no record kept anywhere but on your own screen for as long as the page is open.
How this policy changes
If the way we handle data ever changes, this page will be revised and the date at the top adjusted accordingly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Information collected as you browse
Standard server logs are generated when your browser requests a page. They cover technical details like your IP address, browser, referring URL and timestamps, and are used only to keep the site running and secure. None of it is linked to the input you give the tool.
How cookies and adverts work here
Advertising keeps the site free and is delivered by external networks, which may use cookies or similar technologies to show interest-based ads. Google, as one such partner, lets you opt out through its ad settings. Turning cookies off does not break anything here.
What our statistics cover
Usage statistics, when collected, are anonymous and aggregated. They tell us which pages are useful; they do not identify you and they never include your input to the calculator.
The snippets you drop in
Because everything runs client-side, pasting a private key, a production config or an access token into the tool does not transmit it. Review nothing you would not paste into a text file on your own machine.
How long data is kept, and how it is protected
Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.
Under-13 users
These tools are built for a general adult audience rather than for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and would remove it on being told.
The rights you have
Regional privacy law may grant you rights of access, correction, deletion or objection. Write to us to exercise them: because most of what the tool handles never reaches a server, there is rarely anything on file to act on.
